| If the unit has a GFCI plug be sure the light is green-If it will not reset plug needs to be replaced | |
| If the unit is plugged into a GFCI outlet be sure the outlet is not tripped | |
| Unit may need a new ON/OFF switch | |
| Cooler does not pump | Be sure the pump is turned on |
| Be sure the water level is not low especially important on automatic models | |
| Be sure the pump connection is connected | |
| Be sure the hoses are connected and free of debris | |

| Water leakage | Be sure drain plug is tight |
| Make sure cooler is level | |
| Be sure the unit is primed by running pump only for several minutes to allow media to saturate | |
| before turning on the fan function. | |
| Inspect tank for cracks or breakage | |
| Be sure all hoses are connected with no cracks, holes, or scaling that may disrupt water distribution | |
| Be sure there is atleast 4 inches between the back of the unit and a wall or other obstruction. | |
| An obstruction in the rear airflow could increase the air velocity through the sides and cause water | |
| to be released into the airstream. | |
| Be sure there are no obstructions in the spreaders/water distribution plates causing the water pool | |
| or not flow over the media properly. | |
| Be sure the the rubber washers are in place/not worn if leakage is from the hose adapter | |
| Water intake/overflow | Be sure the float valve is adjusted at a 45 degree angle (not straight out or up and down) and adjust |
| if necessary by loosening the wing nut, adjusting, and then tighening wing nut | |
| If the float valve is broken or the bulb has taken on water it will need to be replaced. |
